Vanguard High School is a school of choice serving students in Mesquite ISD who are interested in a non-traditional high school experience. Students can choose from 15 different programs of study and earn multiple industry certifications, as well as dual credit.

The campus opened in the fall of 2021 with 500 freshmen and 500 sophomores organized into four schools based on their selected program of study. MISD students from any of our five high school attendance zones can attend Vanguard. 

Each October, any MISD eighth grader may submit an interest form in Skyward to enroll in one of 16 different programs of study offered at Vanguard.

Space is limited. If more students select a program than seats are available, a matrix will be used to rank all students on the same criteria for admission to limited enrollment programs.
