Mesquite ISD’s Vanguard Admission Policy for Non-MISD Attending Students
These guidelines are for non-MISD students who have a parent/guardian working for the district or who live in the district but are not attending MISD schools at this time that wish to be considered for Vanguard admission. Please follow the steps below to be included admission selection:
- Complete the Google Vanguard Interest Form by the end of the day on Friday, January 13, 2023
- Once the form is completed, the parent/guardian must submit the student’s report card, complete attendance record (with tardies noted), and discipline record (even if blank) from the first semester (Fall 2022) to Clarissa Jayroe via email or mail (must be postmarked no later than Friday, January 20, 2023 at 4 PM)

- The information listed above will be placed through the same selection process as MISD Students.
- The parent/guardian and student will be notified on February 1, 2023, if the student has been accepted into a program or placed on the waitlist.
- At that time, students will need to respond with either “accept” or “decline”
- Program Accept: Student is committed to attending Vanguard for all 4-years as a full time student.
- Program Decline: Student is choosing not to attend Vanguard and his/her spot will be given away.
- Waitlist Accept - Student would still like to be considered for Vanguard admission if spots become available.
- Waitlist Decline - Student no longer wants to be considered for Vanguard admission.
