Not currently attending Mesquite ISD but interested in becoming a Vanguard?

Mesquite ISD’s Vanguard Admission Policy for Non-MISD Attending Students

Eligibility: Students who live in Mesquite ISD boundaries but are not currently attending a MISD school.

If you would like to be considered for Vanguard admission. Please follow the steps below to be included admission selection:

  • Complete this 2025-26 Vanguard Interest Form by 11:59 PM on Friday, January 31, 2025.
  • Mesquite ISD will request academic, attendance and discipline records from your current school to be used in the selection process.
  • The parent/guardian and student will be notified in March of their acceptance and be given the opportunity to respond with either “accept” or “decline”
    • Program Accept: Student is committed to attending Vanguard for all 4-years as a full time student.
    • Program Decline: Student is choosing not to attend Vanguard and his/her spot will be given away.
    • Waitlist Accept: Student would still like to be considered for Vanguard admission if spots become available.
    • Waitlist Decline: Student no longer wants to be considered for Vanguard admission.

Mesquite ISD’s Vanguard Admission Policy for Out-of-District Students

Eligibility: Students who live outside the Mesquite ISD boundaries.

If you would like to be considered for Vanguard admission. Please follow the steps below to be included admission selection:

  • Complete the out-of-district transfer application available on the Mesquite ISD website March 14 - April 14 and choose Vanguard as your requested school along with your preferred program of study.
  • Mesquite ISD will request academic, attendance and discipline records from your current school to be used in the selection process.
  • The parent/guardian and student will be notified in April of their acceptance and be given the opportunity to respond with either “accept” or “decline”
    • Program Accept: Student is committed to attending Vanguard for all 4-years as a full time student.
    • Program Decline: Student is choosing not to attend Vanguard and his/her spot will be given away.
    • Waitlist Accept: Student would still like to be considered for Vanguard admission if spots become available.
    • Waitlist Decline: Student no longer wants to be considered for Vanguard admission.
